Participants can enter the contest by registering themselves by scanning the QR code provided for the ‘Madras Month Trivia Quiz’ by The Hindu in The Hindu newspaper.
Participants who answer all 3 questions for the day correctly qualify to be shortlisted as a winner.
Participants who answer the photo question for the day correctly qualify to be shortlisted as a winner.
The Hindu shall inform the Winners via phone number provided by the Participants at the time of entering the Contest. The Prize(s) will be delivered to Winners through email.
The distribution time and mode of distribution of the Prize(s) shall be at the sole discretion of The Hindu
Top 3 winners for the day will be chosen basis the fastest 3 participants who send the correct answers to all three questions.
Part correct answers and answering only 1 or 2 of the three questions will not be considered.
If The Hindu is unable to reach to you on the contact details shared by you, for a period of 20 days from the date of communication of winners on the WhatsApp number provided by the Participants at the time of entering the Contest, you fail to claim your prize within such 20 days, the prizes, will be deemed to be unclaimed and The Hindu reserves the right to distribute the prize to the next other eligible Participant.

Photography contest

The photography contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers aged 18 years or older, residing in India. Employees, affiliates, and immediate family members of the contest organizers are not eligible to participate.
Each participant may submit up to 1 photograph for the contest. Images should be in digital format, high resolution (at least 300 dpi), and submitted via online. Entries must not have been previously published in any commercial capacity or won any other photography contest and must not have taken from google or any other stock images sites.
A panel of experienced photographers and experts will judge the entries based on creativity, technical skill, adherence to the theme, and overall impact. The decisions of the judging panel will be final and binding.
By participating in the contest, participants agree to indemnify and hold the contest organizers harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from their participation or the use of their submitted photographs.
Participants must ensure that their submitted photographs do not infringe on any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights. Any plagiarized or copyrighted material used without proper permission will result in disqualification.
Basic digital adjustments, such as cropping, exposure, and color correction, are allowed. However, significant alterations that distort the authenticity of the photograph are not permitted. Composite images or those incorporating elements from multiple photos will be disqualified.
Participants retain full ownership of their photographs but grant the contest organizers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display the images for promotional and marketing purposes related to the contest.
All entries must adhere to the designated theme, which is “Made of Chennai." Participants are encouraged to interpret the theme creatively and submit original photographs.
